COMMISSIONING

Video can’t be displayed

Maintenance and inspection of offshore platforms are more challenging due to their remote locations.
BOSIET = Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training
Note: The Industrial phase of conclusion is Mechanical Certification, Precommissioning, Commissioning, Start Up, Performance Test & Adjustment and Close Out.
Once the Construction is complete and the Mechanical Completion obtained, the Commissioning process begins. This phase involves testing and verifying the functionality of the platform's equipment and systems. It ensures that all components are working correctly and that the platform is ready for operation. During the Commissioning process, various tests are conducted, including pressure tests, leak tests, and equipment performance tests. Any issues or deficiencies discovered during this phase are addressed and rectified before the platform is put into operation.
§
The Commissioning process also includes training the operating personnel and conducting safety drills to ensure that everyone is prepared for emergencies. Once the platform is deemed fully operational, it is ready for a “First Industrial Production” called Start-up and a Performance Test to adjust coefficients, data, software, elements for a better access for the Close Out.
We better spend now few words about some Safety and Key Consideration. Designing Offshore Platforms requires careful consideration of several factors. These include the location and geology of the site, the environmental conditions, and the expected production rates. The platform's design must be able to support the weight of the equipment and withstand any ground movements or subsidence. The environmental conditions are of utmost importance. These platforms must be designed to withstand strong winds, large waves, and even ice formations, depending on the location. The design must also consider the platform's stability and the safety of personnel working on the platform.
§
Safety is a top priority in the Oil & Gas industry, especially when it comes to Offshore Platforms. This Platform is subject to stringent safety regulations to protect the workers and the environment. Safety measures on onshore site to assemble the Offshore Platform include fire and explosion prevention systems, emergency response plans, and regular safety audits but the Offshore Platform have additional safety features, such as lifeboat systems, helidecks, and advanced fire suppression systems. Regulatory bodies, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC), set standards and guidelines for the safe operation of Onshore and Offshore Platforms. These regulations cover everything from design and construction to maintenance and inspection.Another key consideration is the expected production rates. The platform's design must be able to handle the anticipated volume of Oil & Gas production. This includes the capacity of the storage tanks, the processing facilities, and the transportation infrastructure.
Inspections are an integral part of maintenance practices. Regular inspections help identify any potential structural or equipment issues that may

Regular maintenance and inspection are essential to ensure the safe and efficient operation of Offshore Platforms. This platform is subjected to harsh environmental conditions and constant wear and tear, making maintenance a critical aspect of their lifespan.Maintenance activities include routine inspections, equipment servicing, and repairs. Regular inspections help identify any potential issues or deficiencies that could impact the platform's integrity. Equipment servicing involves checking and maintaining the platform's machinery, such as pumps, compressors, and valves. The maintenance and inspection of offshore platforms are more challenging due to their remote locations. Specialized vessels and equipment are used to transport and taxi personnel and materials to the platforms. Regular inspections are conducted both above and below the waterline to ensure the structural integrity of the platform. A Survival Licence called BOSIET has been mentioned in our program.
Note: Drilling Systems - Offshore Platforms are equipped with drilling systems that allow for the extraction of oil and gas from beneath the seabed. These systems include drilling rigs, drill pipes, and various drilling tools and equipment.
- SOME RULES - 1. Safety and Emergency Systems: Offshore Platforms are equipped with sophisticated safety and emergency systems to ensure the well-being of personnel and the protection of the environment. These systems include fire and gas detection systems, emergency shutdown systems, and life-saving equipment. 2. Communication and Control Systems: Effective communication and control systems are essential for the smooth operation of offshore platforms. These systems include telecommunication networks, control rooms, and data acquisition systems that enable real-time monitoring and control of various processes. 3. Maintenance and Inspection Equipment: Regular maintenance and inspections are crucial for the integrity and reliability of offshore platforms. Equipment such as remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), diving systems, and non-destructive testing (NDT) tools are used to inspect, repair, and maintain the platform's components. The use of advanced equipment and technologies enhances the efficiency and safety of jacket and topside offshore platforms.
